Ely Buendia, born as Eleandre Bautista Buendia on November 2, 1970 in Naga City, Philippines, is a Filipino musician and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the influential Filipino rock band Eraserheads.
Buendia started his music career in the late 1980s with the Eraserheads, who quickly gained popularity in the Philippine music scene and became one of the country's most successful and critically acclaimed bands. With hits like "Alapaap," "Ang Huling El Bimbo," and "Pare Ko," the Eraserheads played a significant role in shaping the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) landscape.
After the Eraserheads disbanded in 2002, Buendia went on to pursue a solo career and formed bands such as The Mongols, Pupil, and Apartel. He has continued to be a prominent figure in the Filipino music industry, collaborating with various artists and releasing new music.
